GENERAL GUIDELINES
Travels Through Philadelphia is created entirely by using Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, Adobe Fireworks CS3, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe Flash CS3. The Full Page size is approximitly 800 x 1100 pixels. Travels Through Philadelphia Online magazine is a PC based digital workflow publication. The entire magazine is produced in house. Advertisers are responsible for the quality of their materials. Any disk changes or corrections by Travels Through Philadelphia Online magazine will result in a $45 hourly charge to the advertiser.
NEW AD PRODUCTION SPECIFICATIONS: Effective May 1, 2008
Thank you for advertising with Travels Through Philadelphia Online magazine. We are now requesting all ads to be submitted as digital files that comply with our new production specifications (.jpg or .gif). Improperly prepared files increase the chances of an error being made on your ad for which we cannot be responsible. PRODUCTION SPECIFICATIONS FOR DIGITAL FILES:
Media: CD or Zip Disk
Media labeling requirements: Issue, advertiser, contact name, phone number and disc directory.
Desktop file formats: Adobe Photoshop and Fireworks only. JPEG, GIF or PDF preferred.
Contact and position proofs: Supply hard copy proofs that match each supplied digital file; b&w for 1-color ads, 4-color for 4-color ads.
Desktop instructions: All images, colors and scans must be in CMYK mode at 300 dpi. Include all image links and fonts.
Fonts: All fonts should be Adobe Postscript Level 2, unless the text is created in Photoshop (EPS format). Both the screen and printer fonts for all the type used in your file must be included on your disc. Do not apply style attributes to basic fonts (menu fonts). If you are using bold or italic type you must submit printer and screen fonts for that font. We do not recommend True Type, Windows or printer-embedded fonts.
PDF submission: Use 2400 dpi for image resolution. Embed all fonts and compress at Zip/Jpeg High. Downsample at 300 dpi. Must be accompanied by proof.
Most ad files can be emailed (except for those larger than 5MB), but check with us before sending.
Payment Terms and Conditions
Preferred form of payment is by credit card. We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover and Paypal.
If you want to open an account, you agree to pay for advertising in advance of publication until we can check your credit or until you establish a satisfactory credit history with us.
Terms of credit: Payment is due within 30 days of the receipt of The Beat's invoice. Past due accounts are subject to 1 1/2 percent interest per month on the unpaid balance.
In the event of nonpayment, publisher shall have the right to hold advertiser and/or its advertising agency jointly and severally responsible for such monies as a due and payable to publisher. Rendering a bill to the advertiser's agency shall not relieve the advertiser in the event of nonpayment by the advertising agency. Payment by advertiser to its advertising agency will not constitute payment unless payment is actually received by the publisher.
Publisher will not be liable for any error in advertisement to a greater extent that the cost of space occupied by the item in the advertisement. Publisher reserves the right to reject any copy deemed by it to be objectionable in any way.
Limit of Publisher's Responsibility
The order or request for all advertisements shall be deemed to be a representation to the Publisher by the agency and advertiser that they are properly authorized to publish the entire contents and subject matter thereof.
It is also understood that when advertisements containing the names, pictures, and/or testimonials of persons, whether living or dead, are submitted for publication, the order or request for such publication shall be deemed to be a representation by the agency and advertiser that they have obtained all necessary written consent for such use.
In consideration of publication of an advertisement, the agency and advertiser, jointly and severally, agree that they shall indemnify and save the Publisher, its officers, agents, and employees harmless from and against all damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses whatsoever, including, but not limited to, (I) reasonable fees of counsel selected by Publisher and (II) losses a) resulting from the acceptance of any advertisement, b) resulting from any delays in publication, c) resulting from all claims, demands, suits, actions, or proceedings arising directly or indirectly from the publication of any advertisement (including, but not limited to, claims or suits for libel, infringement of copyright or trademark, unfair competition, plagiarism, or violation of right of privacy), or d) based upon or arising out of any matter contained in any advertisement.
